DEFU CHEN1,2 & ZHILIN CHEN1,2*
Abstract:
The taxonomy of the myrmicine genus Gauromyrmex Menozzi, 1933 is revised based on the worker caste. Three species are recognized, namely G. acanthinus, G. bengkalisi, and G. orbihumerus sp. nov. The new species can be diagnosed by the following characters of workers: humeralcorners of pronotum rounded; lateral portion of head longitudinally striate, promesonotal dorsum feebly longitudinally striate, propodeal dorsum weakly punctulate. A key to the global fauna of Gauromyrmexis provided based on the worker caste.
